CES Transformers (618024 Ontario Inc., “CES,” “we,” “our,” or “us”) is committed to protecting the privacy of the individuals we interact with. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and retain personal information in connection with:
- visits to our website at www.cestransformers.com;
- registration for and attendance at our webinars and hosted events;
- business communications and sales inquiries; and
- our ongoing customer and supplier relationships.
This Policy is governed by Canada’s Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (“PIPEDA”) and applicable provincial privacy legislation. By interacting with our website or registering for our events, you acknowledge that you have read and understood this Policy.
1. Who We Are
CES Transformers is a manufacturer of distribution and power transformers headquartered in Markham, Ontario, Canada. We are ISO 9001 certified and serve utility, industrial, and commercial customers across North America.

2. What Personal Information We Collect
2.1 Website Visitors
When you visit our website, we may collect:
- Technical data automatically collected by our web server and analytics tools: IP address, browser type and version, operating system, referring URLs, pages visited, and session duration.
- Cookies and similar tracking technologies (see Section 6 for details).
- Information you voluntarily submit via our contact form: your name, company name, email address, and the content of your inquiry.
2.2 Webinar and Event Registrants
When you register for or attend a CES Transformers webinar or hosted event, we collect:
- Registration information: name, business email address, company name, and job title.
- Optional registration responses (e.g., questions submitted in advance, survey answers).
- Attendance and engagement data generated by the event platform (e.g., session duration, poll responses).
- Recording consent, where applicable, if sessions are recorded.
Our webinars are hosted using Microsoft Teams (Microsoft Corporation). By registering, your information is also processed by Microsoft in accordance with Microsoft’s Privacy Statement. CES does not control Microsoft’s data practices.
2.3 Customers and Suppliers
In the course of our business relationships, we collect personal information about contacts at customer and supplier organizations, including name, job title, business email, business phone, and correspondence history. This information is maintained in our CRM and ERP systems and is used solely for business purposes.
3. How We Use Personal Information
We use personal information only for the purposes for which it was collected or for consistent purposes the individual would reasonably expect. These include:
- Responding to inquiries, sales leads, and requests for quotation.
- Confirming event registrations and delivering access credentials and joining instructions.
- Sending pre- and post-event communications related to a webinar or hosted event you registered for.
- Following up on expressed business interest, subject to your right to opt out.
- Improving the content and performance of our website and events based on aggregate usage data.
- Complying with legal and regulatory obligations.
- Maintaining our business records and managing our customer and supplier relationships.
We do not use personal information for automated decision-making that produces legal or significant effects, nor do we sell, rent, or trade personal information to third parties for their own marketing purposes.
4. Disclosure of Personal Information
We do not sell personal information. We may share personal information with:
- Service providers who process data on our behalf under contractual obligations (e.g., Microsoft for our event platform and email infrastructure, our website host and analytics provider, our CRM and ERP vendors). These parties are required to handle your information in accordance with applicable privacy law.
- Our employees and contractors who have a legitimate need to access the information in the course of their duties.
- Legal and regulatory authorities, if required by law, court order, or government regulation.
- Acquirers or successors in the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, subject to appropriate confidentiality obligations.
5. Retention
We retain personal information only for as long as is necessary for the purpose for which it was collected, or as required by law.
- Webinar registration and attendance records: retained for up to 24 months following the event, after which they are deleted or anonymized, unless you maintain an active customer relationship with CES.
- Customer and supplier contact records: retained for the duration of the business relationship and for a period of up to seven (7) years thereafter, consistent with our legal and warranty obligations.
- Website inquiry submissions: retained for up to 24 months.
- Website analytics data: retained in aggregate or anonymized form; individual session data retained for up to 13 months.
6. Cookies and Tracking Technologies
Our website uses cookies and similar technologies. We use:
- Essential cookies: required for basic website functionality (e.g., session management, security). These cannot be disabled without impairing site function.
- Analytics cookies: used to understand how visitors interact with our site in aggregate. We use privacy-respecting analytics tools configured to anonymize IP addresses.
You can control cookies through your browser settings. Disabling certain cookies may affect website functionality. We do not use cookies for cross-site advertising or third-party retargeting. Our website does not respond to “Do Not Track” browser signals at this time.
7. Your Privacy Rights
Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:
- Know whether we hold personal information about you and access that information, subject to limited exceptions.
- Request correction of inaccurate or incomplete personal information.

- Request deletion of personal information, subject to our retention obligations.
- File a complaint with the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada (www.priv.gc.ca) if you believe we have not handled your information appropriately.

8. Security
We implement administrative, technical, and physical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the personal information we hold. These include encrypted communications (TLS), access controls, multi-factor authentication on our cloud infrastructure, and a documented incident response program. In the event of a breach that poses a real risk of significant harm, we will notify affected individuals and the Office of the Privacy Commissioner as required by PIPEDA’s breach reporting obligations.
9. Third-Party Links
Our website and event materials may contain links to third-party websites. CES is not responsible for the privacy practices of those sites and encourages you to review their privacy policies before submitting personal information.
10. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practices or applicable law. The “Effective Date” at the top of this document indicates when it was last revised. Material changes will be communicated on our website. Continued use of our website or participation in our events following a material update constitutes acceptance of the revised Policy.
